Deals Arsenal could announce on July 1 as one loan deal set to become permanent

Arsenal are busy preparing for another Premier League campaign with pre-season preparations already being ramped up.

Mikel Arteta’s men came up short in the race for the Premier League title last season and will be looking to go on better next term.
The Gunners currently don’t play a pre-season game until July 28, taking on Manchester United in California.

Arsenal have so many players away on international duty this summer with Euro 2024 and Copa America taking the focus for many Gunners stars.

The preparations have already started though with a training camp taking place in Marbella as Ben White, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, Jurrien Timber and Reiss Nelson gear up for pre-season.

The likes of Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey are expected to join soon too with those not in international action starting pre-season early.

The attention will now turn to potential signings with the transfer window set to really get moving in July.

Possible deals to expect on July 1
The start of July means contracts expiring and one Arsenal deal could be completed as the new month begins.

Goalkeeper David Raya spent last season on loan from Brentford and his deal was due to end on June 30.

The Spaniard became Arsenal’s number one stopper last season and is currently at Euro 2024 with Spain.

Arsenal agreed an option to buy as part of Raya’s loan and HITC understands that a permanent deal is already done.

It is now just a matter of when Arsenal announce the deal and Raya’s loan ending would certainly pave the way for Arsenal to announce a permanent deal to start the month.

Whether it’s on July 1 or later in the month, Raya will be confirmed as a permanent Arsenal player soon enough.

Potential departures to be confirmed
There are still a couple of question marks over some Arsenal talents in terms of their contracts.

Arsenal confirmed in June that three players were still in talks over new deals at the club.

Karl Hein has now signed new terms but Amario Cozier-Duberry and Reuell Walters will become free agents when the clock strikes midnight.

Walters claimed in May that he would be leaving Arsenal but Arsenal have maintained hope of a new deal.

If Walters doesn’t have a new deal in place by the time he becomes a free agent, he will surely be on his way out of the club.

Cozier-Duberry has trained with the Arsenal first team in the past but may now be ready to fly the nest in search of first-team action.

It’s a similar situation with Walters; Cozier-Duberry is surely unlikely to stay put once he becomes a free agent and a departure is on the cards.

Arsenal would hope to have new deals in place to confirm as July begins but the clock is really ticking on both players and their futures at the Emirates Stadium.
