DONE DEAL;Arsenal Exclusive, Significant update on Victor Osimhen today

Arsenal are not currently considering a bid for Napoli star Victor Osimhen, sources have told Football Insider.
Reports have suggested the Gunners are set to act on their long-term interest in Osimhen after disappointment in their pursuit of RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko, 21, elected to sign a new Leipzig contract last week despite strong interest from Arsenal.

Osimhen has admirers at Arsenal but club chiefs are unwilling to meet his lofty valuation despite their desire to add a top-class striker.

The Nigeria international has a £113million release clause after signing a new contract in December 2023, but it is believed Napoli would accept an offer of around £90million.

However, sources say even that outlay is seen as unacceptable by Arsenal – who aren’t willing to meet that valuation.

Arsenal not willing to meet £90m Osimhen valuation
Osimhen, who is under contract in Naples until June 2026, scored 17 goals across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign.

He made 32 appearances across all competitions as Napoli finished 10th in Serie A after winning the league title in the previous season.

The 25-year-old has starred on the international stage for Nigeria, scoring 20 goals in 27 caps.

Arsenal have Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus in their striker ranks but are keen to bring an out-and-out scorer to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Mikel Arteta’s side finished second in the Premier League last season – two points behind Man City.
