'Extraordinary': Pundit says £55m player tipped to join Arsenal is a truly rare footballer

A player who has been tipped to join Arsenal this summer has now been described as a truly unique footballer.

Mikel Arteta has recruited a number of special profiles during his time at the Emirates Stadium.

The Spaniard has signed a goalkeeper in David Raya who Jurgen Klopp even said could play as a No.10 – such is his excellent footwork – while few midfielders on the planet can eat up ground and drive forward like Declan Rice.

Tony Cascarino says Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko is like nothing he has seen before

RB Leipzig No.30 Benjamin Sesko is a primary target for Arsenal this summer.

David Ornstein of The Athletic even claimed that the Slovenia international is “pretty much top” of Arteta and Edu’s shortlist – and feels the £55m striker is more likely to join Arsenal than Manchester United.

Charles Watts is another respected journalist who has tipped Sesko to sign for the Gunners.

Now, Tony Cascarino has emphatically praised the Slovenian.

Speaking on talkSPORT at 8:08am on Sunday morning, the 61-year-old said: “He is 6ft 4in, 6ft 5in. He is a big lad, powerful as well, and he can dribble. For someone who is 6ft 5in, he runs with the ball unbelievably. He gets linked to being similar to Haaland, but if you watch him play, he dribbles, like Ryan Giggs.

“He will run at people and he will literally go around them. That’s the extraordinary thing he has got. I have not seen a 6ft 5in player play like him. I have seen him in wide positions. He is not as traditional as a No.9 but he can certainly go into a deep area, pick up the ball and he will go past people.”

Sesko impressively scored 18 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions for RB Leipzig last season.

Time is of the essence

There is reason for Arsenal to act with urgency here.

Sesko will be present at UEFA EURO 2024 with Slovenia – who are in Group C and will face England on Matchday Three.

That gives the 21-year-old a major platform to shine, and if he does exactly that, there will surely be added competition for his signature, and also the opportunity for RB Leipzig to demand more money.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Arsenal could strike an agreement with the Bundesliga outfit for Sesko before UEFA EURO 2024 begins.
