'I'm happy here': £65m striker Arsenal reportedly want to sign says he'd like to stay at current club

It seems Arsenal may miss out on a rumoured target.
The Gunners ran Manchester City close for the Premier League title last season, finishing just two points adrift of the summit.

So the onus will now be on Mikel Arteta to go one better and pip Pep Guardiola’s side to first place next season.

To do that, he’ll need backing in the window with a prolific number nine, though, it seems he could be about to miss out on a rumoured target.

Dominic Solanke ‘happy’ to stay at Bournemouth
Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal over the last few weeks.

The former Liverpool frontman has a £65m release clause in his contract which is active for the traditional big six clubs.

That has promoted interest from The Gunners and North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur but now it’s just emerged that he’s ‘happy’ to stay at Bournemouth.

Speaking to the Daily Echo , Solanke poured cold water on rumours linking him away: “When you do well, there’s always going to be that speculation.

“Speculation, it’s part of football really. But, I’m happy here and I’ve had a great season here.”

Arsenal should move for Artem Dovbyk
Arsenal should focus their attention elsewhere and move for Girona striker Artem Dovbyk, who enjoyed a phenomenal season in La Liga last term.

The Ukraine international netted 25 times whilst laying on 10 assists and would cost significantly less than Solanke.

The 26-year-old has a £34m release clause in his contract.
