Liverpool transfer news live: Arda Guler 'contact', Nat Phillips price tag, Nico Williams latest

the Daily Mail reports.

Carvalho is a talented player but there is a major question mark over his best position and whether he would get enough minutes next season at Anfield for his liking.

Pitching his next move, though, would be tricky. He is clearly too good for the Championship but didn't get any game time at Leipzig. A mid-table Premier League switch would appear to make sense.

Pep Lijnders wants to sign Liverpool starlet
Liverpool talent Bobby Clark is wanted on loan by Red Bull Salzburg, according to the Daily Mail. The Austrian side, of course, is now managed by former Reds assistant manager Pep Lijnders.

Clark is a massive talent and is definitely ready for more minutes at a high level. The question for Liverpool, though, is whether or not he will get enough time on the pitch next season to carry on developing.

Last year, Clark would have played most of the Europa League group stage matches had he not been injured for a spell. But the Reds won't have the luxury of making changes in Europe now they are back in the Champions League again.

Liverpool 'willing to pay $64m for Ademola Lookman'
Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea would all be willing to pay $64m (£51m/€60m) for Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman this summer, according to the Italian site Calciomercato.

The forward scored 17 goals and registered 10 assists from 45 games last season but the chances of the Reds being prepared to splash that sort of money on him seem fairly slim.

Maximilian Beier race hots up again
Liverpool has been linked with a move for Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier, inevitably labeled the 'next Roberto Firmino' because of the club that he currently plays for.

But Aston Villa and Chelsea, according to Sky Germany, are also in for the 21-year-old. Beier scored 16 goals in 33 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit last season.

Spurs in for Jonathan David
Once on Liverpool's transfer list before the Reds signed Diogo Jota instead, Canadian forward Jonathan David could finally move to the Premier League after years of links.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham has made contact with the Lille striker about a move to London this summer. Talks with his representatives have supposedly been held while Chelsea is also sniffing around.

Joshua Kimmich relationship 'destroyed'
Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich could leave the Bundesliga outfit this summer because his relationship with the German giant is 'destroyed'. Sky Germany reports that it is more likely than not that Kimmich will depart.

Now 29, Kimmich is supposedly being eyed by Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona, though his wage demands are significant. He is also said to have ruled out a move to Manchester United.

Speaking in a new documentary, in quotes carried by BILD, Kimmich says his relationship with Bayern bosses has been destroyed. "I felt left alone for too long," he said, referring to the time that he was reluctant to get a Covid vaccine.

"That was the first downturn. That's when I noticed how the club reacted and I was disappointed and hurt. The feeling of trust that I had previously had in the club has of course been destroyed. I never know what will come out when I speak to one person or another. It's not like trust can be rebuilt in one or two conversations."

Victor Osimhen price set
Napoli will consider offers of around $107m (£86m/€100m) for Victor Osimhen this summer, according to Calciomercato. The player had been expected to move on but there has been little in the way of serious interest for the time being.

If Liverpool was going to sign any player from Napoli, I'd like it to be Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, though it remains to be seen if that is a deal that is even remotely plausible.

Bruno Guimaraes release clause expires
Liverpool and Barcelona have both been linked with moves for Newcastle United forward Bruno Guimaraes a few times over the last few months but his $127m (£100m/€118m) release clause has now expired, according to Fabrizio Romano.

He was never likely to be a target for Liverpool given the midfield revamp that took place last summer. There is a need for a top-class holding midfielder at Anfield but the Brazilian is a more attack-minded option.

Mark Halsey interview
What VAR changes would you like to see? Automated offsides have been big at the European Championship and they will be in the Premier League next season, so that will help speed things up.

"VAR is here to stay and it is going nowhere; the problem I have is the inconsistency," former Premier League referee Mark Halsey has exclusively told Liverpool.com on behalf of Poker Sites.

"In UEFA competitions and the World Cup, it works fantastically well because of the leadership and direction of Roberto Rosetti. That's why we see it work so well in the Champions League and why we're seeing it work so well in the Euros.
