Edu and his team will be predominantly focused on signing players who can immediately help Arteta’s squad this summer, aiming to go on on better and win the league title next season.
However, Arsenal are also looking to lay solid foundations for the future too, and have been attempting to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City in identifying Europe’s top young players.
Arsenal have a host of excellent young English talent in their ranks right now, namely Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
And according to journalist David Ornstein, it now seems as if Arsenal will add Ajax goalkeeper Tommy Setford to that list of talent.

Ornstein shared his update for The Athletic on Sunday morning and stated that Arsenal had reached an agreement with the Dutch club to sign the 18-year-old.
Born in Haarlem in the Netherlands, Setford represents England at youth international level and recently made his debut for England’s under-19s.
Arsenal reach agreement with Ajax to sign ‘big talent’ Tommy Setford
According to the report mentioned, Arsenal have agreed a fee with Ajax in the region of €1m plus add-ons for Setford, who will sign a four-year contract.
Setford is regarded as a ‘big talent‘ and will help cover for what has proved a small exodus of keepers the club this summer.
Academy goalkeepers Ovie Ejeheri, James Hillson and Arthur Okonkwo have all released from the club, meaning Arsenal have been left short.
18-year-old Danish youth international Lucas Nygaard has already signed for the club – appearing against Boreham Wood in a 4-2 win on Saturday.
And it’s not just at youth level that Arsenal could experience a big change in their goalkeeping department.
Southampton now want to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal, who could end up leaving the club on loan.
Ramsdale’s replacement would likely be Espanyol’s Joan Garcia if he leaves, who has impressed as number two in Spain.
Of course, Arsenal have also made a bid for Wolverhampton Wanderers keeper Daniel Bentley, who is thought to have the kind of personality which could really benefit the squad.
