Arsenal could be about to make an offer for 'one of the best strikers in the world' - journalist

Arsenal supporters may just about to be treated to the kind of transfer update they’ve been waiting for all summer from the Emirates.

So far, Edu and his team have been slow in their efforts to improve Mikel Arteta’s squad, at least in comparison to last year.

Arteta and his team are currently in the US for their pre-season tour without any new signings to show off to their stateside fans.

Riccardo Calafiori’s Arsenal medical may be imminent, but otherwise it seems as if the Gunners aren’t close to announcing any deals for players who will help at the other end of the pitch.

It’s been reported that Arsenal still want three more signings after concluding a deal for Calafiori, and one of those will be a forward.

And after learning that Nico Williams doesn’t want to come to the Premier League, Arsenal may now turn to some other names on their shortlist.

And according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Gunners could now be about to make an eyebrow-raising offer for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Arsenal tipped to make offer for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer
Osimhen has been linked with Arsenal for a long while, many believing that he could be the striker to propel Arsenal to the league title they are chasing.

But in that regard, news of Arsenal actually preparing an offer for Osimen hasn’t really come to fruition during the transfer window.

However, according to Di Marzio, who is hot on all things Serie A, the Gunners may present an offer for Osimhen ‘sooner or later’.

The journalist was originally sharing news of Paris Saint-Germain’s plans to chase ‘one of the best strikers in the world’ this summer, and then mentioned Arsenal’s name.

He shared: “Everyone wants Osimhen. But the offers are still lower than Napoli’s requests. The player does not want to go to Saudi Arabia.

“But we must also pay attention in the Premier League. The market for strikers has not yet started. It is therefore possible that Arsenal will present an offer sooner or later.”

Of course, if Arsenal did make an offer it would send shockwaves around the Premier League, the kind of energy some supporters want to see from the club.
