Arsenal linked with surprising €40m move for Bayern Munich star

The Gunners are attracted to Sane’s speed, creativity, and Premier League experience, viewing him as a valuable addition to their attacking line.
Despite Bayern Munich’s desire to retain the 28-year-old German international, Sane’s contract situation makes him an appealing target. With his contract expiring in 2025, the winger is entering the final year of his current deal, potentially forcing Bayern to consider offers to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

According to reports from Germany, Bayern Munich is willing to negotiate a transfer if Arsenal presents a bid exceeding £40 million (€47.6m). Although not actively seeking to sell Sane, the German giants are reportedly open to raising funds through player sales, having already spent €145m on new arrivals this summer.

Sane, who previously played for Manchester City, is not actively pushing for a move away from Bayern Munich. However, the prospect of a lucrative contract and a reunion with Mikel Arteta, his former coach at Manchester City, could tempt him to return to the Premier League.

Arsenal’s interest in Sane is seen as a contingency plan should their pursuit of Athletic Club‘s Nico Williams fail. The Gunners are reportedly hesitant to meet Williams’ high asking price, opening the door for a potential move for Sane.

The connection between Sane and Arteta, who worked together at Manchester City, could be a key factor in persuading the winger to join Arsenal. Sane has spoken highly of Arteta’s coaching, crediting him with helping him improve his game during their time together. Additionally, Sane’s familiarity with Kai Havertz, his German national teammate and a recent Arsenal signing, could further facilitate his integration into the squad.

While Arsenal’s primary focus remains on securing Nico Williams, the potential acquisition of Leroy Sane presents an exciting alternative. Sane’s proven track record in the Premier League and his familiarity with Arteta’s coaching style make him an attractive prospect for the Gunners.

However, the financial implications of the deal and competition from other clubs could pose challenges in securing his signature.
