Arsenal sitting on £134m goldmine as Edu ponders eight summer transfers

Mikel Arteta and Edu could raise up to £134million this summer which could drastically help Arsenal seal marquee signings. As football.london has reported over the last few months, the Gunners' priority remains to sign a new midfielder .
Amadou Onana and Youssouf Fofana have been just two of numerous options linked with Arteta aiming to find a perfect Declan Rice partner. Towards the final stages of the 2023/24 season, Thomas Partey was selected in midfield but he looks set to move on over the coming months.

Interest from Saudi Arabia and Italy is present in the experienced midfielder, valued at €18million (£15.2m), as per transfermarkt. Aaron Ramsdale is another linked to a departure with David Raya expected to become Arsenal's first permanent summer signing.

Like Ramsdale, Emile Smith Rowe has seemingly lost his spot in Arteta's core group and as such could also seal an exit, with the English duo, according to transfermarkt, said to be worth €25m (£21.2m) and €22m (£18.6m), respectively.

Alongside the aforementioned trio, Arsenal have plenty more players that could help Arteta raise some funds. With that in mind, Nuno Tavares €15million (£12.7m), Kieran Tierney €12million (£10.2m) Reiss Nelson €15million (£12.7m) Fabio Vieira €22million (£18.6m) and Eddie Nketiah €30million (£25.4m), with all values determined by transfermarkt.

If the Gunners can agree deals for anywhere close to those values, Arteta and Edu will certainly feel confident of making some big moves later in the summer. Signing a striker is not necessarily one of their priorities but if an opportunity does emerge, Arsenal may act.

Newcastle's Alexander Isak appears off the table given the sheer size of funds that would be needed, however Viktor Gyokeres remains a feasible addition. During his debut campaign at Sporting CP, the 26-year-old managed 43 goals from 50 appearances, which is 18 more than Isak in just an extra 10 games.

According to reports, his release clause stands at £85million which is within the club's financial realms especially considering the total that could be acquired through sanctioning eight exits.
