Arsenal submit transfer 'offer' for Dan Bentley as Arteta plan becomes clear

Arsenal have submitted an offer to Wolves to sign goalkeeper Dan Bentley, it has been claimed.
The opening bid was immediately turned down by Gary O'Neil's side , with it well below their valuation, as the 30-year-old is a valued member of the squad, as per the Athletic. Contact from Emirates Stadium to express an interest in signing Bentley was made a few days ago while it was also revealed Wolves value him at £1million.

While the Gunners have been linked to numerous names, all of their business thus far has been done in the goalkeeping department. Earlier this month, Arsenal announced the permanent signing of David Raya from Brentford in a £27million deal.

Aaron Ramsdale has also been strongly linked to an exit, with Newcastle one club showing an interest in his signature, but Arsenal are said to be targeting Bentley as their third-choice shot-stopper to boost ranks in pre-season.

While not an absolute certainty, that could suggest Arteta is keen to keep Ramsdale in north London. The potential addition of Bentley will also help immediately with Raya and Ramsdale both still at the European championships with Spain and England, respectively.

As such, it is unlikely they will be present for the entirety of pre-season with it possible the duo are still on holiday for the first few days of Arsenal's tour of the United States. Further talks for Bentley are likely to occur and they may also see Arteta and Edu enquire about two of his teammates.
