Arsenal told they can sign 'one of the best players in the world' if bid is increased by £26.1m

Arsenal have now been told they could be successful in pursuit of a top talent if Edu Gaspar offers £26.1m more.
The Gunners are close to making their first significant signing of the summer as Riccardo Calafiori nears a move to the Emirates Stadium – having already recruited Tommy Setford from Ajax for Hale End.

So, who could Arsenal sign next? Let’s take a look…

Arsenal could sign Raphinha with £76.1m bid
A story from Mundo Deportivo now claims that Barcelona would agree to sell Raphinha for €90m (£76.1m) this summer as the Spanish giants aim to raise funds for the signings of Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.

The Spanish news outlet state that Barcelona would ideally like to keep the Brazil international – but due to financial issues at the Camp Nou, a £76.1m sale would be agreed, given the fact he cost £55m to sign from Leeds in July 2022.

Judging by what Mundo Deportivo are reporting, that is not going to be anywhere near enough to sign the South American this summer, so the Gunners will need to go back to the drawing board.

Raphinha impressed for Barcelona in the 2023/24 campaign, scoring ten goals while also providing 13 assists in 37 appearances.

Even £55m could end up being enough
Interestingly, Mundo Deportivo do make it sound as if Barcelona would eventually consider a bid of €65m (£55m).

It is said that an unnamed Saudi Arabian outfit have put that amount on the table, which – while still being below Barcelona’s valuation – would provide an “important injection” of cash for Hansi Flick’s side, so there is a chance Arsenal could sign Raphinha for less than £76.1m this summer.

The Barcelona No.11 – aged 27 – is undoubtedly a fantastic forward, someone Xavi even called one of the best players in the world” last season, although we believe Arsenal would be better off spending that money on the aforementioned Williams themselves, a winger who was arguably the best footballer at UEFA Euro 2024 this summer.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Arsenal could sign Raphinha if Edu puts some more cash on the negotiating table.
