Ivan Toney is one player who has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates in recent times, but according to Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, there’s a big issue when it comes to Arsenal’s pursuit of the ‘world class’ striker.
Indeed, Jones says that Toney isn’t valued that highly by Arsenal, claiming that while Brentford see him as a £60m player, the Gunners believe he’s worth a maximum of £45m.

Arsenal value Ivan Toney at just £45m
Jones shared what he knows about Toney and the Gunners.
“A big issue with signing Ivan Toney is that Brentford want £60m. Anyone I have spoken to from the clubs including Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal when they were interested see Toney as a £40-45m player,” Jones said.
Toney is worth more
Arsenal’s internal valuation of Toney may sit at just £45m, but make no mistake about it, the England international is worth way more than that.
Look at the current striker’s market. Players such as Rasmus Hojlund are moving for north of £70m after one half-decent season in Serie A.
Ivan Toney now has a handful of brilliant Premier League campaigns under his belt, and he’s shown that he’s capable of hitting 20 goals at this level for a mid-table side.
Yes, he’s not a young player with huge potential, but he’s a proven commodity, and in this day and age, strikers like that are like gold dust.
If Richarlison was deemed a £60m player when he joined Tottenham off the back of a few decent seasons for Everton, Toney being valued at a similar sort of price isn’t ridiculous at all.
Arsenal may want to re-think how they value Toney, because this is a brilliant player available for a decent fee.
