DEAL DONE ✅ Arsenal and Bologna reach agreement for Riccardo Calafiori’s transfer

Italian international centre-back Riccardo Calafiori (22) is expected to shortly seal his move to Arsenal after the North London club reached an agreement with Bologna, according to a report this Sunday from Sports Zone. The outlet understands that, barring any unexpected change of heart, the versatile defender will join Mikel Arteta’s Gunners once his holidays are over. Despite scoring an own goal during Italy’s group stage 1-0 loss against Spain at the Euros, Riccardo Calafiori was one the few convincing players in Germany for Luciano Spalletti’s Squadra Azzurra.

It has been reported that Juventus manager Thiago Motta had been pushing for Riccardo Calafiori to join him at the Allianz Stadium, as they would have been reunited after their breakthrough season at Bologna, but the plucky Serie A club, who will play in the Champions League next season, had no intention to sell one of their prized assets to a domestic rival.
Arsenal quickly zoomed in, and presented the player with a convincing sporting project before agreeing on personal terms with the player. Arsenal are expected to pay north of €53m for the signing of Riccardo Calafiori.
