Exclusive: Arsenal are keeping tabs on £30m attacker who scored 22 goals last season

Arsenal have carried out due diligence on a prolific £30m attacker on the continent.

Mikel Arteta’s side are on the verge of signing Riccardo Calafiori and are now beginning to turn their attention towards an attacker.
Athletic Bilbao and Spain winger Nico Williams is thought to be high on Arteta’s wishlist, though, Barcelona are confident of landing his signature.

If Arsenal miss out on Williams, they could move for an alternative target, who they’ve done background check

Arsenal have Brian Brobbey on their radar
TBR football understands that Arsenal have carried out due diligence on Ajax attacker Brian Brobbey, who has been labelled as ‘lethal’ per Breaking The Lines.

The Gunners have Brobbey on their radar if they decide to move for a striker after his prolific season in Holland.

The 2002-born netted 22 times whilst laying on 12 assists last term and is thought to be available for £30m this summer.

Brian Brobbey appears keen to leave Ajax
Speaking in May, Brobbey appeared to indicate that he’d like to leave Ajax for Arsenal, or at least, he certainly made his affection for The Gunners known.

“Arsenal, I think that is a very nice club. If you look at that stadium,” he told NOS Jeugdjournaa, via Voetbalprimeur.

The Netherlands international reiterated that stance a couple of weeks later but this time named a number of clubs: “Real Madrid is a great club,” as translated by The Express.

“But so are Arsenal and Manchester United.

“Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham. Those are nice clubs. But, if I stay at Ajax, that is certainly not a punishment.”

Evidently, it seems Brobbey is touting himself around to the top clubs in hope of a big-money move.
