It’s been known for a long time that the Dutchman would replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, and now, he’s finally getting to work at Kirkby and assessing his squad.
However, it’s not just Slot who is assessing people at Liverpool right now.
Indeed, the manager himself needs to make a strong first impression, and, by the sounds of things, he has done just that.
Speaking to The Kop Council, James Pearce has been discussing Slot’s first few days at Liverpool, and he says that the feedback he’s had from people within Anfield is that the manager has made a really strong impression.

Pearce shared what he’s been told by people within Liverpool about Slot.
“I thought he looked comfortable and he struck a good balance. The feedback I’ve had from people at the club who are still in the process of getting to know him, but have started the process is that he’s made a really really good impression on people,” Pearce said.
Strong start for Slot
This is exactly what you want to hear about your new manager.
Of course, results on the pitch will define Slot and his spell at Anfield, but the fact that he’s made such a strong impression behind the scenes this early bodes well.
Make no mistake about it, Slot had huge shoes to fill replacing Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, and it would’ve been very easy for him to get off on the wrong foot with the Liverpool staff after the German’s departure.
However, Pearce’s comments suggest that Slot is going about things the right way, and he’s winning people over at Anfield straight away.
Fingers crossed this is the start of an incredible new era on Merseyside under Slot.
