The Reds have undergone a summer of change on both the training pitches and in the boardroom this summer, with plenty of reshuffling.
The passing of the torch from Jurgen Klopp to Arne Slot and also the arrival of new sporting director Richard Hughes and more recruitment staff besides hasn’t been easy to navigate.
As a result, Liverpool chose not to overcomplicate things by throwing new additions into the mix, too.
With Slot having now gotten to grips with his Liverpool squad, though, it looks like things could now really begin to ramp up at Anfield.

Sky Sports journalist makes Liveprool ‘guarantee’
It’s safe to say that Liverpool fans have been growing a little anxious at their lack of activity so far this summer.
The Reds look set to sign Rio Ngumoha as their first new arrival of the summer. However, it should be expected that the 16-year-old will initially sign for the Liverpool academy.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
As a result, the Reds will still remain the only Premier League side yet to bring in a senior player since the end of last season.
That in itself is not a huge reason to panic, though. Especially when the Liverpool squad is already packed with such quality.
Nevertheless, summers are for signings and every supporter wants to see a new face or two added to freshen things up.
Thankfully, then, Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdams has now issued what sounds to be an exciting prediction about Liverpool’s business in what remains of the window.
“There’s no question Michael Edwards will be looking at players to potentially come in, the same with Richard Hughes, who’s been operating as a sporting director for over 10 years largely in the Premier League,” says McAdams.
“They will be working together, they’ve got a long-standing 20-year relationship together and they will be looking to attack the market at some stage,” he adds.
“I can guarantee you Liverpool will sign players in this summer. Don’t worry Liverpool fans, just let things evolve naturally. Arne Slot will be a key decision maker in any new face at Anfield.”
Who will Liverpool sign?
Part of the reason this kind of thing is so exciting is that few have any real kind of idea over who Liverpool could be targeting.
There has been little in the way of concrete links for the Reds all summer long. As a result, whoever eventually joins could be a bit of a bolt from the blue.
If you ask most supporters, they’d take a surprise, Fabinho esque signing over a transfer saga that rumbles on for months on end.
Having said that, the rumours about Liverpool potentially signing Anthony Gordon have gathered a bit of pace again recently.
If the ‘guaranteed’ signing ended up being Gordon, that would certainly make up for the lack of activity up to this point. Patience, Reds, something good sounds like it’s coming.
