If Arsenal sign 'powerful' £30m striker this summer, they'll win the Premier League title - opinion

Mikel Arteta can make a title-deciding signing this summer by bringing a ‘powerful’ striker to North London.
Arsenal have been biding their time in the summer transfer window but now look ready to accelerate a number of deals.

One of those being Riccardo Calafiori, who is set to sign a five-year deal with The Gunners, joining from Serie A side Bologna.

Attention will now start to turn towards Nico Williams, who is Arteta’s preferred target out wide, though, Barcelona are currently pursuing that deal, too.

If they can also add a £60m-rated striker, it’d win them the Premier League.

Arsenal should sign Ivan Toney
England and Brentford striker Ivan Toney, labelled as ‘powerful’ per Match of the Day, has been linked with a move to Arsenal over the last few months.

The Gunners are in the market for a prolific number nine and Toney has been mooted as a target but those rumours have gone cold of late.

Though, they should reignite their interest in the 28-year-old as he’d be absolutely perfect for Arteta’s system.

In fact, he’d be that well suited, it wouldn’t at all be surprising to see his addition fire Arsenal to a first Premier League title since 2004.

Toney’s link-up play is excellent and he is much more of a prolific finisher than Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.

The former Peterborough man has netted 36 times in 85 Premier League appearances, which is an impressive record considering he plays in a lower-half side.

Plus, he’s available for a discounted fee.

Ivan Toney price tag
Toney has just one year remaining on his Brentford contract, so he’s expected to move on this summer as The Bees won’t want to risk losing him on a free transfer.

That said, there is now a belief that suitors could land his signature for a discounted fee worth £40m – which would represent terrific business for The Gunners.
