'Incredible': Micah Richards and Gary Lineker say £25m 'superstar' Arsenal want to sign is the next big thing

Both Micah Richards and Gary Lineker have been left in awe of one young attacker who’s been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer.
After Mikel Arteta’s side were eliminated from the Champions League by Bayern Munich last season, Arsenal’s senior staff made a decision.

Those high up at the club decided there wasn’t enough ‘x-factor’ at Arsenal, Arteta didn’t have players who could change a game on their own.

Perhaps the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli might rebuff those thoughts, but Arsenal do need some added impetus in central areas.

And whilst that may be an issue solved by adding a centre-forward, it seems more likely that Arsenal will add a winger who is able to play inside, or a number eight to sit alongside Declan Rice.

One profile who fits the bill in both regards is Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler.

The 19-year-old has been a sensation at Euro 2024, guiding Turkiye to the quarter-finals.

And after Arsenal were linked with a move for Guler, the midfielder has now been receiving a ton of praise.

Arsenal target Arda Guler tipped to become a ‘superstar’ after Euro 2024 display
After guiding Turkiye past Austria on Tuesday evening, both Richards and Lineker were discussing Guler’s performance on ‘The Rest Is Football’ podcast.

The pair were left in awe of the £25m-rated talent, who seemingly has the world at his feet.

Richards said: “We can’t move on without talking about Real Madrid’s, Guler. Oh my. 19 years of age, he’s a superstar.

“And not just because he scored that worldie in the group stages where he bent it from 30 yards, it’s the way he manipulates the ball and the way he plays the right pass at the right time. He is going to be the next big thing, I think.

Lineker added: “Incredible talent. He’s at Real Madrid for a reason. Turkey, I have really enjoyed watching them play and their fans.”

As stated, Arteta’s side have been credited with serious interest in Guler, and incidentally Arsenal are also tracking his Turkiye teammate Ferdi Kadioglu.

However, after Guler’s Euro 2024 showing, Madrid would surely be loath to lose their young star, destined for the very top.
