'It's understood': PL club will now step up their interest in 'exceptional' £40m Arsenal player - journalist

According to a journalist, a Premier League club are now ready to step up their interest in an Arsenal player.

Mikel Arteta will be keen to bolster his ranks ahead of the fast-approaching Premier League season in August.

Though, to facilitate incomings, they will have to sanction a number of sales to comply with Profit and Sustainability regulations.

With that said, a Premier League club are now ready to formalise their interest in an Arsenal star.

Fulham to step up interest in Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has provided the latest update on Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe amid links to Fulham.

“Fulham are among a number of Premier League clubs holding a strong interest in Arsenal forward Emile Smith Rowe,” Sheth said.

“They are expected to formalise their interest soon.

“It’s understood Smith Rowe wants to assess all his options – regular first-team football is his primary motivation.

“Smith Rowe has two years left on his Arsenal contract.”

Arsenal want £40m for Emile Smith Rowe
It’s understood that Arsenal want around £40m for the 23-year-old, who has been labelled ‘exceptional’ as per Rob Edwards, via Daily Mail.

Fulham aren’t alone in their interest as Crystal Palace are also keen on adding him to Oliver Glasner’s ranks this summer.

Though, at that price, it remains to be seen if either will progress talks with Arsenal if they aren’t willing to lower the asking price.

Smith Rowe’s stock isn’t what it once was mainly due to a lack of playing time, so suitors will likely want to strike a deal for closer to £30m, if not even a little less.
