The Gunners have been overly-reliant on Bukayo Saka for too long now, with some criticising Mikel Arteta for his over-use of Saka at times.
Arsenal need a quality player who they can rotate with Saka down that right side, and according to Steve Kay, speaking on KS1TV, the north London club are now looking at a £55m player from the Bundesliga.
Arsenal interested in Leroy Sane
According to Kay, there have whispers about Arsenal’s interest in Sane.
“There seems to be a pattern emerging here looking at people’s ages, and there’s another one at a similar age who I’ve heard today,” Kay said.
“Who was that who you heard today?” Kay was asked.
“You have his picture up there, Leroy Sane. Yeah, very early days on this one, but he’s a player people have mentioned throughout this window and the last window,” Kay said.
“I never had anyone of note say anything to me, but today I heard that Arsenal are really looking at him as an option on that side.”
Sane would be incredible
This would be an absolutely incredible signing from Arsenal.
Sane is proven at Premier League level, he’s a winner and he knows how to turn up in the big moments.
Mikel Arteta, of course, knows the German well from his time at Manchester City, and there’s a reason Pep Guardiola called Sane a ‘special’ player during his time at the Etihad.
As Kay says, it’s early days on this transfer, so it may not be time to get too excited just yet, but the idea of Sane coming to Arsenal is mouth-watering.
Who knows? Perhaps Sane is the so-called mystery German player who has been linked to the Gunners as of late.
This is certainly an interesting transfer story that could transform Arsenal and take them to the next level.
