Manchester United's new signing Leny Yoro has revealed which game convinced him to make the switch to Old Trafford.

The 18-year-old defender joined United in a £52m deal from French side Lille last week.

Yoro had also been the subject of interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Spanish giants Real Madrid - with reports suggesting the centre-back had been pursuing a move to the Champions League holders.

Speaking to MUTV, Yoro has revealed which game convinced him to pick a move to the Red Devils.

He said: 'When I saw the FA Cup win at the end of the season, for me, I really wanted to be with them because to win titles and celebrate with the fans - it's incredible.'

Manchester United were considerable underdogs when they faced up against city rivals Man City in the FA Cup final back in May.

However, they would go on to take a 2-1 victory after goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo - a result that saved Erik ten Hag's job at Old Trafford.

Yoro impressed in his debut for United, as they beat Rangers 2-0 in a friendly on Saturday, and is travelling with the team for their tour of the United States on Wednesday.

He also admitted that playing in the Premier League was a big factor for the move.

'Yeah, for me, this is the biggest championship in the world. For me, the Premier League… this is where the football fully exists.

'So the fans, the level – because the level is crazy there, there is not an easy game - and, for me, the Premier League is the biggest in the world.'

Real Madrid had been favourites to sign Yoro before the defender opted to move to Old Trafford.

Liverpool had also been interested but had been of the impression that Yoro would only make a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.
