'Made it clear to Arsenal': £100k-a-week Gunners player fancies permanent move away - Sky journalist

Arsenal are up and running in the summer transfer window, with an academy signing over the line and a high-profile senior signing now on the way.

The Gunners signed Tommy Setford from Ajax earlier this month, the England youth goalkeeper joining the Hale End ranks.

However, there could also be more outgoings from the Emirates Stadium over the coming weeks too.

Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares recently sealed initial loan moves away from Arsenal.

Seville have the option to sign Lokonga permanently, while Lazio have an obligation to buy Tavares.

Now, according to Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports, an Arsenal player has “made it clear” to the Gunners that he’s keen on a move away.

Arsenal ace Reiss Nelson keen on permanent move away
The player in question is Reiss Nelson, who has struggled to break into the Arsenal starting XI and seems eager to move on.

Sheth, speaking on Sky Sports News, reiterated that the Foxes have held initial talks with Arsenal over the 24-year-old.

It is understood Nelson has made it clear to Arsenal he wants to explore his options, added the reporter.

The Hale End graduate has been at N5 since age nine and previously went out on loan at Hoffenheim and Feyenoord.

It is thought Nelson would prefer a permanent move away from Arsenal this time, added Sheth.

Nelson best off leaving Arsenal
Nelson is a very exciting talent who has proven himself at a high level and certainly has what it takes to make an impact at Arsenal.

However, he is just not getting enough game time as things stand and, at 24 years of age, he needs to be playing regularly.

It doesn’t look as though Arsenal can offer him regular first-team football, so it’s probably best for all parties concerned that he is sold this summer.
