The Gunners have been quite inactive in the transfer window so far, with their only addition being the re-signing of David Raya after last season’s loan spell.
Arsenal have been working on deals in the background, with the Gunners said to have agreed personal terms with Riccardo Calafiori weeks ago now.
In recent days, reports have suggested that Calafiori to Arsenal has been at a standstill as the Gunners struggled to agree a fee with Bologna.
Now, however, according to Di Marzio, the ball is once again rolling on this one.

Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal is closer than ever
According to the Italian journalist a decisive leap has been made in the last few hours to unlock this deal.
The deal isn’t quite done, but an agreement appears to now be in place for a €50m transfer.
Apparently, this negotiation has been unlocked by the agent, Alessandro Lucci who was reportedly pivotal in getting all parties to agree a deal.
Now, Bologna are almost ready to let the ‘amazing’ defender go and the centre-back is seemingly set to become a new Arsenal player in the coming days.
Riccardo Calafiori signing needs to be followed up
Calafiori is an exciting first signing of the summer for Arsenal, but the Gunners need to make sure they follow this up with more additions.
Indeed, the north London club need to flesh out their squad in other key areas as they search for a new striker, a new winger and potentially also a new midfielder.
Arsenal aren’t far away from being capable of winning a Premier League title, but they can’t rest on their laurels at this point when they’re so close to getting over the line.
Calafiori needs to be the first of a few exciting signings for Mikel Arteta’s side this summer.
