Report: Big Nico Williams transfer development now expected 'in the next few hours'

Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are just four of the clubs that have been linked with Nico Williams in recent weeks.

The Gunners, the Reds, the Lilywhites and the Blues are likely to be busy on the transfer front in the coming weeks as they look to strengthen their respective squads.

Arsenal and Liverpool will want to win the Premier League title next term, while Tottenham and Chelsea will be eager to break into the top four after falling short last season.

Meanwhile, Williams is one of the most highly sought-after players in the summer market after a superb season for Athletic Bilbao and Spain.

The 22-year-old helped his club win the Copa del Rey last season before going on to star in La Roja’s Euro 2024 triumph, leading to interest from the Premier League.

Now, Spanish outlet Sport has provided an update on Williams’ future, and it looks as though a decisive development could be on the cards.

Nico Williams set to pick between Barcelona, PSG and Athletic Bilbao
According to Sport, Williams ‘must give an answer’ with regards to his next destination ‘in the next few hours’.

The report claims that these are ‘decisive hours’ and a decision is now ‘imminent’, with one of three options on the table for the player.

Sadly for the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea, it doesn’t look as though a move to the Premier League is on the cards.

The report claims that Williams’ three options are as follows: Join Barcelona, move to Paris Saint-Germain, or stay with Athletic.

It is suggested that ‘there is a certain optimism’ within the PSG camp due to ‘what the player and his entourage have been giving off in recent days’.

This is because Barca’s offer cannot match up to that offered by the Parisians and, if Williams were to join the Blaugrana, it would ‘purely be out of personal motivation

Disappointment as Premier League set to miss out on Williams
If the report is true, then all of Williams’ suitors should finally have their answer in the next few hours and bring this saga closer to an end.

Sadly, it doesn’t look as though the Euro 2024 champion will be gracing the Premier League any time soon.

While Barca appear to have been frontrunners in the race for Williams for much of the summer, PSG certainly cannot be discounted as the player seeks to make a ‘very complex
