The Gunners and reigning Premier League giants have been intertwined somewhat this summer in regard to their rumoured transfer targets, with Arsenal and City both strongly linked with moves for Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes.
With neither side yet to make an official signing this summer, there’s a real chance that Arsenal or City could end up annoying one another depending on who they manage to recruit first in the transfer window.
And Pep Guardiola’s side could now have the advantage over Arsenal in one race.

City have tabelled bid to sign Arsenal-linked playmaker Dani Olmo
According to Mundo Deportivo, City have made a ‘good offer’ to sign RB Leipzig playmaker and Spain star Dani Olmo, with Arsenal also linked with the 26-year-old attacking midfielder this summer.
Valued at £50m, Olmo has quickly become one of the most attractive players in the transfer market after his impressive performances for La Roja at Euro 2024, which ended with Spain beating England 2-1 in the final.
With City seemingly looking ahead to the potential departure of Kevin De Bruyne, Olmo could be viewed by Guardiola as a good replacement for the Belgian superstar, with the 26-year-old a La Masia graduate.
And with City now making an offer to sign Olmo, Arsenal could soon be left in the dust in their pursuit to sign the Cataln, who could jump at the chance to work with Guardiola and to play for a club as big as City.

Olmo could thrive at City under Guardiola
Olmo showed at the Euros this summer that he is destined for greatness, and a move to City this summer and playing under Guardiola could be what unlocks the playmaker’s true potential at the highest level.
The Spanish international was key to La Roja’s stunning success in Germany at Euro 2024, and at City, Olmo can take his game to another realm if given the time to adjust to the Premier League and Guardiola’s brand of football.
Indeed, Olmo at Arsenal would have been a fantastic fit too, yet with Guardiola’s City in the hunt, the Catalan-born talent was realistically only ever going to join one team this summer in the Manchester giants.
