Mikel Arteta’s side are closing in on the end of their trip to the United States with their final game coming on Wednesday against Liverpool.
Riccardo Calafiori has marked the first major signing of the summer for Arsenal after weeks of negotiations with Bologna.
However, there is one other top target who the Gunners now look set to miss out on this summer.

Arsenal summer target set to stay at current club
Despite getting the deal for Calafiori over the line, it has not exactly been a sensational summer window for the Gunners so far.
There could be an argument made for Arsenal not needing a lot this summer after a really impressive 2023/24 campaign.
But any further additions to the squad will now have missed the opportunity to bond with their new teammates during their pre-season tour of the States.
According to The Athletic, Nico Williams now looks set to remain at Athletic Club this summer despite the interest arriving in him.
The main interest is believed to have arrived from Barcelona who were keen to make the Spaniard their statement signing.
However, there was also strong interest from Arsenal who were one of a few foreign clubs who had the Euro 2024 winner on their radar.
Despite all the interest arriving after his sensational showing on the international stage this summer, Williams looks set to remain at his boyhood club.
Arsenal set to miss out on ‘superstar’ signing
Arsenal are still in the market to add to their signing of Calafiori this summer with some more firepower eyed for their title push.
Mikel Merino is a player who Arsenal are keen on with Real Sociedad now expecting the midfielder to push for a move.
But in Williams, Arsenal will be missing out on a real ‘superstar‘ who certainly shone this summer at the Euros.
Williams even got on the scoresheet against England in the final. However, there may be some encouragement taken from the fact he is not moving to Barcelona this summer.
