Report: 'Talented' player has now promised Mikel Arteta that he'll sign for Arsenal

Pre-season is just around the corner, and Arsenal are yet to get their first incoming deal over the line.

However, if reports are to be believed, there’s one deal that is very close.

Indeed, Riccardo Calafiori looks to be close to joining Arsenal with personal terms said to be agreed.

Of course, until a deal is done, there can still be twists and turns, but, by the sounds of things, Calafiori is dead set on joining Arsenal.

Riccardo Calafiori’s promise to Mikel Arteta
According to CalcioMercato, Riccardo Calafiori has given Mikel Arteta his word that he will join Arsenal, stating that he won’t listen to any other offers that come in.

Calafiori has apparently already agreed a deal with Arsenal, but, unfortunately, club-to-club negotiations don’t appear to be advancing all that quickly.

Indeed, Calafiori has been in the headlines for a couple of weeks now, but negotiations between Arsenal and Bologna appear to be at something of a stalemate.

Calafiori deal needs agreeing
Riccardo Calafiori seemingly has his heart set on joining Arsenal, and now, a deal needs agreeing.

So much work has gone in on the player’s side, and the Italian has promised to join Arsenal, but now, it’s up to the club to uphold their end of the deal and agree a fee.

Whether or not Arsenal cough up the necessary cash to sign the ‘talented’ player remains to be seen, but it sounds as though they will have plenty of time to thrash this deal out as Calafiori doesn’t plan on entertaining any other offers.

Of course, Calafiori’s head could still be turned by a bigger financial offer coming in from elsewhere, but, as things stand, he’s given his word to Arsenal and the Gunners are firm favourites to go and get this deal done.
