SAD NEWS FOR ARSENAL: Tottenham will now try to sign £50m player who has agreed personal terms with Arsenal

Riccardo Calafiori has been the talk of the transfer window over the past week or so.

Arsenal and Chelsea have both been strongly linked with the Italian defender, and according to some, a move to Arsenal is very likely.
Tottenham want to sign Riccardo Calafiori
According to Gazzetta, Tottenham are now going to try again to sign Riccardo Calafiori.

The Italian defeneder was said to be on Spurs’ radar back in January, and now, as the Bologna star gears up for a move to the Premier League, Tottenham want to re-enter the conversation.

Of course, it won’t be easy for Spurs to get this deal done as Arsenal seem to be incredibly advanced in their interest.

Arsenal move more likely for Calafiori
Tottenham are going to try to hijack this move, but it would appear as though Arsenal are still favourites to get this deal done.

Arsenal have already put in a bid, and personal terms have been agreed, so they are some way along in terms of getting this deal done.

On top of that, Arsenal do have Champions League football on offer, whereas Spurs do not, while competition for places will be similar in both sides.

Indeed, while Gabriel Magalhaes represents a roadblock in Calafiori’s route to the Arsenal starting XI, Micky van de Ven plays the same sort of role at Spurs and there’s an argument to make that he’s Tottenham’s most undroppable player.

Away from the two north London clubs, Chelsea are also said to be keen on the £50m man, and perhaps the Blues, as always, could have another transfer trick up their sleeve.

Calafiori is certainly a player to keep an eye on as the transfer window starts to heat up.
