'Star in the making': Daniel Sturridge says attacker Arsenal want to sign is absolutely outstanding

Daniel Sturridge has heaped praise on a rumoured Arsenal target.

Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar will be hard at work identifying and beginning talks with a number of targets this month.

They’ll be keeping close tabs on several players at Euro 2024 and one of their targets has been starring at the competition.

Sturridge hailed his performance in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
Daniel Sturridge hails Arda Guler
Arsenal have been linked to Turkey and Real Madrid star Arda Guler in recent weeks and have sent scouts to watch him at Euro 2024.

The 19-year-old has been one of the standout performers in Germany, helping his nation to reach the last eight before suffering a 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands last night.

Former England and Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge took to X last night and heaped praise on the Arsenal target.

Guler laid on the assist for Turkey’s opener, whipping in a teasing right-footed cross on a plate for Samet Akaydin to head home.

Real Madrid reluctant to let Arda Guler go
It remains to be seen if Arsenal will be able to tempt Real Madrid into a deal for the Turkey wonderkid.

Madrid reportedly consider Guler as untouchable, so any suggestion of a permanent deal is likely to be wide of the mark.

Perhaps a loan deal could materialise but after his sensational showing at the Euros, he’s likely to be given plenty of opportunities at the Bernabeu next season.

It seems as though Arsenal will have to look elsewhere, perhaps at Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze who has a £60m release clause.

Fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also looking at the former QPR man, who is currently away with England in Germany.
