Since the arrival of manager Ange Postecoglou at the club, Spurs have splashed the cash on new signings and strengthened their attack as well as defense.
Now, they could beat their London rivals Arsenal in the race to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Tottenham’s interest in signing the England international midfielder Eze is more advanced than their London rivals Arsenal.
Jacobs said on Last Word on Spurs podcast:
“When one club enquires, every club enquires. As soon as the Euros finish we might see some movement on this one.
“You’re right that Manchester City like this player, but Tottenham are there and I think they’re ahead if you like in terms of how concrete they are that he’s someone they wish to move on than Arsenal who have been linked with Eberechi Eze as well.”

The Palace midfielder has a £60 million release clause in his contract, with an additional £8 million in potential add-ons.
Spurs are increasingly looking likely to trigger that clause and sign the player who can provide them creativity and a cutting edge in the final third.
Eze would be an ideal signing for Tottenham
Postecoglou has a number of creative players in the attacking department with the likes of Heung-min Son, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski already at the club.
The potential addition of Eze, who scored eleven goals last season and provided six assists, will add inventiveness to the Spurs attack.
Jacobs has mentioned the interest of Manchester City as well in the services of the player but it is Spurs who are currently leading the race to sign him this summer.
