'Unbelievable to work with him': Martin Odegaard says he's always learning so much from one Arsenal man

Martin Odegaard has suggested that it is unbelievable to work with one Arsenal man, insisting that he is blown away by the level of detail he goes into in preparations for games.

The Gunners have become one of the sides to set the standard in the Premier League over the last two years, with Mikel Arteta leading Arsenal back into the title picture. They also showed that they are going to be a force to watch out for in the Champions League in the years to come.

Of course, this improvement has been several years in the making, but plenty of Arsenal fans will trace their rise back to one particular decision Edu made back in 2019.

Obviously, it has not always been smooth-sailing for Arteta since his appointment, with the Spaniard coming in for a lot of criticism in his first couple of years in the job, but he has managed to silence all of the doubters over the last two seasons in particular.

Martin Odegaard lauds ‘unbelievable’ Arsenal man
Martin Odegaard has a lot to thank Arteta for, after his career was put back on track following his move to Arsenal – with the Norwegian subsequently becoming the club captain.

And when asked about his manager, Odegaard told Morning Footy that he absolutely loves working with him and is amazed by the way he sees the game.

Mikel Arteta, Manager of Arsenal, reacts during the Premier League match between Arsenal FC and Everton FC at Emirates Stadium on May 19, 2024 in L

“It’s just unbelievable to work with him, the level of details and the way he sees football is just unbelievable,” he said.

“There’s so many things in the game that he’s telling you that you wouldn’t even think about before – there’s so many small things, it’s hard, it can be like body position, or what type of run you can make to be free, so many small tweaks you can do with your body, with your position, so yeah, so many small things, and it all makes sense when he’s telling it to you, so yeah it’s just unbelievable to work with him and be able to learn from him.”

Mikel Arteta looking to make Premier League history
Arteta may become a victim of his own success if Arsenal are now unable to take that final step and win the Premier League or go even further in the Champions League.

There is so much potential in the squad, and Arsenal are now considered a heavyweight in the top-flight once again, so everything is there for the Gunners to end that two-decade wait for a title win. In the process, Arteta could make history by becoming the first Premier League manager to win the title in their first role as a number one.

It would be a shame for Arsenal if they are not rewarded with silverware in the coming years, as they have done incredibly well to move out of mid-table mediocrity and back into the title race so quickly.

Odegaard is clearly confident that they can get across the line with Arteta at the helm.
