West Ham in talks to sign Arsenal winger

With the European Championships and the Copa America now having finished, attention has turned to the transfer window.

The current window has been a relatively quiet one so far for clubs in the Premier League, with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool yet to complete a signing.

Last season’s Premier League runners-up, Arsenal, have made only one signing so far, with David Raya joining the club permanently after spending last season on loan at The Emirates.

Manager Mikel Arteta will likely want to bolster his squad ahead of the new season, after seeing his side finish second in each of the past two campaigns.

Now, though, it appears that the North London club could be willing to sell one of their current players.

As per Football Insider, London rivals West Ham United are in talks to sign winger Reiss Nelson this summer.

Nelson could leave Arsenal this summer

The 24-year-old has been at the club for 15 years, progressing through their youth academy before breaking into the first team.

He has failed to ever establish himself as a regular for the Gunners, though, and the report suggests that Arsenal could cash in on the Englishman during the current transfer window.

In total Nelson has played 89 times for Arsenal across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists.

Last term he made 23 appearances, including 15 in the Premier League as Arteta’s side finished second to champions Manchester City.

Nelson’s current contract with Arsenal runs until 2027, but the North London outfit could cash in on the player this summer.

As well as the Hammers, fellow Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion are also said to have show interest in the player, who is valued by his current employers at around £25 million
