£50m striker Ian Wright told Arsenal to buy could now be on his way to Saudi Arabia this summer - Romano

In a summer in which Eddie Nketiah’s Arsenal adventure could come to an end, Mikel Arteta has been linked with a host of strikers who could act as an upgrade.

So far this summer, Riccardo Calafiori is Arsenal’s only summer arrival, an excellent purchase judging by the Italian’s performances at the Euros.

Alongside Jurrien Timber, who also feels like another new signing for Arteta, the Arsenal boss will have a wealth of options at the back this season – the kind of flexibility he’s been craving.

And with Mikel Merino determined to join Arsenal, Arteta could also enjoy a similar situation in his midfield next season, it’s all looking very positive.

However, with Arsenal hoping to sell Eddie Nketiah as soon as possible, it seems that they do have further plans to bolster their strikeforce.

In that regard, fellow Hale-Ender Reiss Nelson could also leave Arsenal this summer – meaning Arteta would be short of forward options without a replacement.

And perhaps it could finally be time for Arsenal to add a new goal-scorer.

Arsenal target Ivan Toney assessing his options amid Saudi Arabia interest
Along with wantaway Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, Arsenal have been linked with Ivan Toney this summer.

Not so long ago, Ian Wright told Arsenal to buy Toney, believing he was the striker who could elevate Arteta’s side to trophy contention.

However, with Arsenal failing to make a move so far this summer, Toney may now consider a move to Saudi Arabia.

Toney has been linked with Tottenham too, but after they chose to sign Arsenal fan Dominic Solanke, it seems as if the Brentford striker could consider an alternative path.

Fabrizio Romano shared the news on X, saying that Al Ahli had been following £50m-rated Toney since January.

Romano said: “Ivan Toney, one of the main strikers being considered by Saudi Pro League clubs for the final weeks of the window.

“Toney, appreciated by Al Ahli already since last January window and he’s still on SPL shortlist.

“No decision on the player’s side, he’s assessing options.”

Of course, it’s not impossible that Toney could still enter Arsenal’s thinking before the end of August.

And at that price, the England striker could definitely be worth a gamble – someone who would definitely score goals in north London.
