Arsenal learn Ivan Toney deadline transfer truth as £50m expectation emerges

Arsenal transfer target Ivan Toney will be one of the most in-demand players in the final 10 days of the summer transfer window. The striker is expected to leave Brentford before August 30 with a number of clubs interested.
Chelsea have also been credited with interest but the imminent signing of Joao Felix will all put an end to that pursuit. On Sunday, Toney's future returned to the spotlight after he was left out of Brentford's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Thomas Frank confirmed the decision was made by the club due to transfer interest. Now, with just over a week until the transfer window closes, the Bees' stance on the England international is seemingly changing.

According to a report from The Times, the Premier League side are resigned to losing their talisman and 'expect' Toney to secure a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli. Brentford are hoping to receive £50million for the striker.

Al-Ahli, who currently have Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino and Edouard Mendy, saw a £35m proposal turned down by the Bees last week. It's now thought that talks have progressed and personal terms have been settled down.

With less than two weeks of the transfer window remaining and focus being on signing Mikel Merino, Arsenal seem to be accepting they won't be signing Toney. A £50m isn't expected to be the sort of package the Gunners would sanction with close to £30m being spent on Merino.
