Arsenal now want to sign 24yo attacker with 19 goals/assists, talks accelerating - report

Arsenal are likely to bolster their attack this month and a new winger could be prioritised.

The Gunners have been linked with multiple names in recent weeks including Galatasaray’s Baris Alper Yilmaz and Sok Gazetesi claim that the club have accelerated transfer talks to sign him.

The Turkish champions initially valued the attacker at €30 million, but they are now willing to accept bids in the region of €20m. Arsenal are likely to face competition from West Ham United.

Yilmaz would be a surprise signing for Arsenal
The 24-year-old is predominantly a right winger, but he can operate in four more positions. He also played from the left-back, right-back, left wing and centre-forward positions last term.

Despite his constant change of roles, the Turkey international had a solid campaign with seven goals and 12 assists from 55 appearances in all competitions for Galatasaray.

Yilmaz went on to start for his country at the European Championship. He did not make a goal contribution in his five games, but caught the eye with his link-up play.

In our view, Arsenal could see him as a replacement for Reiss Nelson, who has decided to move on.

There are no concrete bids on the table for the Gunners graduate, but Arsenal’s interest in Yilmaz suggests that Nelson could head for the exit door in the coming days.

Yilmaz, who has been described as ‘very special‘ by Gaziantep manager Selcuk Inan, could be easily persuaded to join the club with Champions League football next term.
