Arsenal push for player today – ‘Brutal pressure’ expected from Gunners in next few hours

On Thursday, Mundo Deportivo reported Arsenal plan to negotiate a deal for Espanyol for Joan García, after reaching a verbal agreement with the goalkeeper.

The Gunners have taken necessary steps to try and sign the 23-year-old before Friday’s deadline.

That’s according to AS, who state Arsenal have made an offer of €20m with bonuses on Thursday. This has been rejected by the La Liga side’s sporting director, Fran Garagarza.

The Spanish club have no desire to negotiate a deal for the star as the transfer can only be carried out if his €30m release clause is activated.
AS also point out that Arsenal have an agreement in place with the stopper. Therefore, it’s not ruled out for Mikel Arteta’s side to pay €30m for him.
Mundo Deportivo state Espanyol are expecting ‘brutal pressure’ from Arsenal in the next few hours. The report also claims the English club’s bid of €20m including bonuses hasn’t been entertained.

The La Liga side continue to insist that García’s €30m clause has to be triggered, for him to leave on deadline day.

Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale is set to seal a move to Southampton. They are in the market for a new goalkeeper, to provide cover and competition to David Raya.

The latest claims in the UK have stated Arsenal are also looking at AFC Bournemouth’s Neto. This hasn’t been taken into account by the two Spanish newspapers.
