Outgoings
Eddie Nketiah is set to join Crystal Palace in a deal worth £25 million, which could rise to £30 million with add-ons. The 25-year-old striker attracted interest from several clubs this summer, with Arsenal open to offers.
Aaron Ramsdale is poised to sign for Southampton for £18 million, plus £7 million in add-ons.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are hopeful of securing moves away for prospects, including Omar Rekik and Salah-Eddine Oulad M'Hand.
Incomings
A loan deal for Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto has been agreed, with the Brazilian undergoing a medical on Friday morning.
This development means a move for Espanyol shot-stopper Joan Garcia appears unlikely in the current transfer window, due to the Spanish club’s demand of €30 million for the highly-rated goalkeeper.
Arteta is also keen to bring in a forward before the transfer window closes, with discussions ongoing regarding Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling.
Sterling has been informed that he’s surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge. Arteta, who previously coached the former England man during his time as an assistant at Manchester City, maintains a close relationship with the player.
“My time with Raheem was exceptional,” Arteta said last week. “We built a really strong relationship together. He was unbelievable at that time. He taught me a lot as well, about individuals, how players think, and how we support them. He is someone I have really strong feelings about."
