Arsenal staff are now split on what they want to do with £35m player – journalist

Arsenal have a fair bit of business they need to tend to before the transfer window closes next week.
The Gunners still want to make new signings. Arsenal are said to be close to signing Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad.

Meanwhile. Arsenal also need to focus on outgoings as the likes of Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson continue to look for new clubs.

Speaking on The Arsenal Way Podcast, Kaya Kaynak has been discussing Nketiah’s future.

The journalist says that it’s becoming harder and harder for Nketiah to find a new club, but Arsenal do still hope to sell the striker.

Interestingly though, Kaynak also says that there are some within Arsenal who want Nketiah to stay.

Arsenal staff split over Eddie Nketiah
Kaynak shared what he knows about the £35m player.

“It’s a shame for Arsenal because I think it would’ve been a good out for Nketiah to Bournemouth. Palace are still interested, Forest seem to be going for Gimenez. If I was Nketiah I would avoid Nottingham Forest,” Kaynak said.

“Beyond that, Wolves were interested, Arsenal were hoping for a bidding war, and it’s looking less and less likely each day. It’s looking trickier. Arsenal will be hoping they can get a deal done to see him out of the club, but I know there are people at the club who want him to stay, there are certain members of staff who would like to see him stay.”

What should Arsenal do with Eddie Nketiah?
Arsenal staff are split over what to do with Eddie Nketiah, but this one looks rather straightforward.

Premier League clubs are interested in Nketiah, and if Arsenal can recoup a decent fee, they should sell the striker.

Nketiah is third-choice at Arsenal as things stand, and as we near 12 months since he last scored a goal, it’s fair to say that he won’t be a difference-maker in this team.

Nketiah is a good player, but Arsenal are best off cashing in and moving on from the England international at this point.
