Liverpool have officially sold Bobby Clark to RB Salzburg. The 19-year-old leaves after just three years on the books at Anfield, having arrived from Newcastle United in 2021.
Clark enjoyed a fantastic season last time out, making 12 appearances for Liverpool and consistently finding himself in Jurgen Klopp's plans. That included starting roles in both the Premier League and Europa League, while Clark also featured in the EFL Cup final against Chelsea.

But with Liverpool's midfield packed right now, it was decided that £10m is too good a price to pass up. The fee comes from Salzburg, who appointed Pep Lijnders as head coach this summer.
Lijnders has worked closely with Clark since 2021 and rumours of his interest have been ticking along all transfer window.
The overall deal sees Liverpool secure £10m as well as 17.5% of any future sale. The 'real' fee here will be in sell-on clause - if Clark fulfils his potential, the Reds stand to get another £10m to £15m on top of that initial £10m.
That's a big 'if', of course, but Clark has always boasted fantastic potential - as shown by the fact he signed a new contract under a year ago. Ultimately, though, it was felt that he couldn't fulfil it at Liverpool.

It's a shame that this is how it ends for Clark at Liverpool. He showed real promise last season and there was a true feeling that he could make it at the senior level.
But there are just too many options right now. The chances that Clark got regular football were slim, and he almost certainly needed that in order to grow.
There's no better place for him to go, though. He will work under a manager he knows very well and, more importantly, knows him well - and wanted him at the club in the first place. Salzburg also have a magnificent track record for developing talent, too.
So who knows? Maybe this isn't the end for Clark at Liverpool. We'll see what the future holds.
