Italian defender Calafiori made his first Premier League appearance in an Arsenal shirt on Saturday in a 2-0 win against Aston Villa.
The former Bologna defender was introduced as a substitute at minute 79, replacing Jurrien Timber.
Calafiori had already played for Arsenal, but it was in a friendly game against Lyon at the Emirates Stadium earlier in August.
This was his first appearance in a competitive match, given that Calafiori had spent the first game of the season on the bench against Wolves.
“Attitude makes the difference,” Calafiori wrote on Instagram.
“Happy for my Premier League debut and for the important win. Let’s keep going guys.”
Calafiori joined Arsenal from Bologna for €50m, including add-ons in July.
He made his senior Italy debut this past June, less than one week before the Azzurri’s EURO 2024 debut against Albania.
Calafiori made three appearances in the Euros and was suspended in a Round of 16 clash against Switzerland, which saw the Azzurri being eliminated following a 2-0 loss.
