Deal sheets help Arsenal and Chelsea complete transfer agreements to offload unwanted stars

And with the signing of Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea in the early hours following deadline day, Nelson’s struggle for minutes was only likely to get greater. It’s for that reason Nelson has sealed a deal to join Fulham on loan for the season. Ipswich Town were said to be close to a deal but it never materialised. The Cottagers stepped in after they saw their deal for Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah fall through.

A deal sheet was submitted and the clubs were able to wrap up a deal within the two-hour extension. Fulham owner Tony Kahn said of the deal: “I'm very happy to welcome Reiss Nelson to Fulham Football Club! Reiss is a talented young player, and we're excited that he's joined the squad on loan! His arrival concludes a busy transfer window for the Club, and we're all looking forward to a great season ahead! Come on Fulham!”

Elsewhere, Chelsea have seemingly managed to offload Trevoh Chalobah to Crystal Palace on a loan deal. The deal has not yet been confirmed, with Fabrizio Romano saying: “Trevoh Chalobah to Crystal Palace, done and completed in time.” Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian also made the same claim.

Chalobah was told earlier in the summer that he would not be part of Enzo Maresca’s plans for this season and was left out of the trip to the USA. He now links up with Palace for the season, joining new deadline day signings Eddie Nketiah, Matt Turner and Maxence Lacroix.

The Blues have also managed to offload unwanted striker Armando Broja, again on a loan deal. Broja was the subject of a deal sheet from Everton having also seen a deal to Ipswich fall through, much like Nelson. He pens a temporary deal with the Toffees who will hold a £30million option to buy.

Everton's director of football, Kevin Thelwell, told the club website: "Having monitored Armando's journey for a number of years, we're very pleased to have been able to bring him to the Club.

"Armando is still a young player who has already built up some impressive experience but someone we also feel has lots more potential to be unlocked. First and foremost, we will work with him to get him fit as soon as possible. Then, his addition will strengthen our options in the attacking department.”
