Declan Rice shows his true colours with 'unreal' comment ahead of Aston Villa vs Arsenal

Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins insists he’s “ready for another big year” after being named in the PFA Team of the Year.

Striker Watkins fired Villa to fourth place in the Premier League last season with 19 goals as Unai Emery’s side defied all expectations to qualify for this season’s Champions League. He received his latest accolade at the PFA Awards in Manchester on Tuesday night.
He was named alongside the likes of Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, who helped Manchester City win the title, and a host of Arsenal players, including Declan Rice. Watkins posted on Instagram during the ceremony, saying: “PFA team of the season, ready for another big year ahead!”

His post prompted a classy reply from Rice, who said “unreal mate”. Former Villa teammate Moussa Diaby also responded with three heart eyes emojis. Rice and Watkins played together for England at Euro 2024 this summer as the Three Lions lost to Spain in the final.

They will go head-to-head in the Premier League this weekend as Rice’s Arsenal visit Villa Park.
