Fabrizio Romano has now heard something completely different on Victor Osimhen's potential move to Arsenal

Arsenal are still looking to add to their frontline before the transfer deadline at the end of the month.
So far this summer, Mikel Arteta has only been able to sign a new defender in the Italy international Riccardo Calafiori.

It has been a slow start across the window for many of the Premier League’s top sides with Liverpool yet to even make a single signing.

So it has been a case of Arsenal looking to identify quality additions over quantity as the search goes on for their second signing.

Victor Osimhen is a player who Arsenal have shown an interest in this summer with the Nigeria international looking for a route out of the Serie A side.

What Fabrizio Romano has heard about Victor Osimhen to Arsenal
The Gunners are actively looking to make more additions over the final two weeks of the window with midfield being an area of priority.

But a new striker is also on the list for Arsenal and Fabrizio Romano has now shared what he has heard about a potential swoop for Osimhen.

Speaking on his Daily Briefing, Romano has claimed the reports from Italy suggesting Osimhen was in negotiations with Arsenal were wide of the mark.

“Finally on Chelsea, there is still no major update or change to the Victor Osimhen situation. They never left the race, but Osimhen still insists on a permanent transfer and he won’t lower his salary demands,” he said.

“I’m also not aware of any negotiation ongoing right now with other clubs, despite some reports in Italy mentioning Arsenal.

“PSG had the green light from Osimhen one month ago but then they started working on different targets, so as far as I know there are currently no discussions ongoing with other clubs.”

Arsenal could miss out on Victor Osimhen to Chelsea
Clearly, Arsenal are going to have to fend off some stern competition if they are going to land the Nigeria international this summer.

However, the Blues seem to hold the cards in the negotiations with Napoli given the Italian side are keen on signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

What a signing Osimhen could be for Arsenal as they look to dethrone Manchester City at the top of the table, but some tense weeks may now lie ahead of them in the race for the striker.
