Fabrizio Romano shares the real reason why Pedro Neto isn’t signing for Arsenal or Tottenham now

Pedro Neto has finally got his big move to a Premier League giant as the Portuguese star gears up to leave Wolves.

This move to Stamford Bridge came out of the blue on Friday afternoon, and, for the longest time, it looked like Neto would be joining Tottenham or Arsenal instead.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has now shared some insight into Neto’s move, and why he’s not ended up at Spurs or Arsenal.

Why Pedro Neto isn’t going to Tottenham or Arsenal
Romano shared why Neto isn’t heading to north London, claiming that Arsenal were never that interested and that Tottenham were put off by his pricetag.

“I have many questions on Pedro Neto this summer, but I can guarantee that Arsenal for example were never really in for Pedro Neto this summer. Arsenal had an interest in Pedro Neto, but they never made any concrete proposal this summer,” Romano said.

“Tottenham had a genuine interest in Pedro Neto, he was one of the players in the list of Tottenham, but they were not going to pay that money, Tottenham had a different kind of strategy for Pedro Neto.”

Tottenham and Arsenal didn’t need Pedro Neto
As talented a player as Neto is, Tottenham and Arsenal don’t really need a player like this at the moment.

Arsenal have a lot of talent out wide already such as Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, and Tottenham are in a similar boat.

Indeed, with Heung-Min Son, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski all battling it out for a spot on the wings.

Neto wouldn’t have been a guaranteed starter at either Arsenal or Tottenham, and considering how much he is going to cost, the two north London clubs may have been best off swerving this move.
