The Gunners travel to the midlands to take on Aston Villa at Villa Park (5.30pm kick-off). Mikel Arteta’s side got off to the perfect start last weekend thanks to a 2-0 home win against Wolves.
The game did however throw up a couple of major injury worries. In the final few minutes of the game, Declan Rice was spotted limping and holding his right calf before being replaced by Gabriel Jesus.
However, football.london understands that the midfielder is expected to be fit and available for the clash against Villa . It’s a similar situation with Bukayo Saka who was spotted limping during the clash against Wolves before being replaced by Leandro Trossard. No update has been given on the Arsenal talisman, meaning that he is expected to be fine and available for the trip to Villa Park.
There will be at least two Arsenal players who will miss the game through injury with both Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney ruled out. There is also a doubt over the availability of Fabio Vieira due to injury, the midfielder has also been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium which could impact his availability.
Another player in a similar situation could be Eddie Nkeitah. The striker is said to be closing in on a move to Nottingham Forest. Arteta did however say that he expects the player to prepare for the game as normal.
With all that in mind, football.london have taken a look at all the players who are available for squad selection, and those who are not. It leaves Arteta with a few decisions to make.
