Gary Neville & Jamie Carragher agree over Wolves prediction v Arsenal, they’re adamant one…

Wolves are putting together the final pieces of their preparation for the opening day visit to Arsenal.
Gary O’Neil would have preferred an easier route into the 2024/25 season than a trip to the Emirates Stadium however, Wolves have been handed a tough start.

That being said, the manager will be encouraged by what he’s seen from his players this summer in what has been a successful pre-season.

The Premier League tests don’t come much difficult than facing Arsenal at the Emirates, with there being an understanding that Wolves must be at their very best to take a result from the capital.

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher make Arsenal v Wolves prediction
Looking ahead to the opening day, pundits and supporters have made their predictions over how matchweek one could look in the Premier League.

On the latest episode of The Overlap, Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher shared their opinion on Wolves’ battle against the Gunners.

While all of the panel pointed at an Arsenal win, Neville and Carragher expressed their certainty over one thing in particular.

The duo reached an agreement that Wolves will not score in North London, as Carragher said, “Arsenal won’t concede” to which Neville responded, “Arsenal won’t concede to Wolves.”

The former Manchester United defender predicted a 3-0 win to Mikel Arteta’s side, with Carragher suggesting that O’Neil’s squad “would be happy” to record a 2-0 defeat.
Wolves aren’t the favourites but that shouldn’t unnerve Gary O’Neil
Given the magnitude of the task in hand for Wolves at the Emirates on the opening day, it’s understandable why many would predict an Arsenal win.

Like any top-six side at home, Arsenal are the favourites going into the fixture although the strength and mentality of O’Neil’s side should not be overlooked.

Last term, the Old Gold recorded away wins in the capital against Spurs and Chelsea, as well as a home victory over Manchester City.

With games of a significant challenge, it comes down to mentality with Wolves, as the squad have the talent required to win the game if they can out-battle the hosts.

It’s a fierce task to overcome as early as the opening day, with many hopeful that Carragher’s and Neville’s predictions will prove to be incorrect.
