‘Getting annoyed’: Insider shares why Arsenal are getting frustrated with the Mikel Merino deal now

Mikel Merino to Arsenal is becoming quite the transfer saga as the Gunners continue talks with Real Sociedad over the Spaniard.

Merino agreed personal terms with Arsenal last month, but, as of yet, no agreement has been reached on a fee.

It was reported last week that this deal should be done soon, but there are a few complications.

Writing on his Patreon, Arsenal insider, Team News and Ticks, has shared an update on the Merino situation.

The reporter says that he’s been told Arsenal are still confident of getting the Merino deal done.

However, he also states that Arsenal are getting annoyed by some of the antics of people involved in this deal, claiming that he’s yet to be given a reason why this transfer hasn’t been sanctioned yet.

Arsenal getting annoyed with Mikel Merino deal
The insider shared what he knows about this move.

“Then nothing until today when their president came out and said we were off on the fee,” He wrote.

“When I read that I contacted someone at the club who said they are still confident. We are getting annoyed by some of the antics, we feel it has been all agreed but it’s just not been signed off on.

“I wasn’t given a reason for this and I’m not entirely sure if the club know why this is.”

Mikel Merino transfer should still go through
Arsenal are getting frustrated with how long this is taking, but this deal should still go through.

Fabrizio Romano has said there’s nothing to worry about, and while this transfer is taking longer than expected, everything should ultimately be finalised in due time.

Merino wants to move, and as he enters the final year of his contract, Real Sociedad are under pressure to sell.

There may be some more haggling to do around this deal, but, ultimately, Merino should still end up being an Arsenal player.
