'Here we go': £54m forward reportedly wanted by Arsenal now set to join London rivals instead - Romano

Arsenal are likely to be busy on the transfer front this month as Edu and Mikel Arteta look to strengthen their ranks.

The Gunners have made one senior signing so far this summer, bringing Riccardo Calafiori to the Emirates from Bologna, and chances are they’re not done yet.

However, there will invariably be targets that will slip through the net.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, an “incredible” forward on the Gunners’ radar has now opted to join a London rival.

Arsenal target Pedro Neto now set for Chelsea
The player in question is Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Pedro Neto, one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League.

Rivals Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the Portugal international, but neither Arsenal nor Spurs have got their hands on him.

Instead, Neto is now set for Chelsea, with Romano declaring “here we go” on a move to Stamford Bridge in a £54million deal.

Arsenal yet to make any attacking reinforcements this summer
Neto has been incredible for Wolves over the years, a world-class quality who boasts superb footwork, vision, speed and work-rate.

Even though his contract runs until 2027, it looks like the Molineux outfit has decided to cash in, and Chelsea have got in ahead of Arsenal and Spurs.

Tottenham have managed to strengthen their attacking ranks at least, with Dominic Solanke set to join, while the Gunners must keep searching.

Arsenal are yet to make any attacking reinforcements this summer and, with just three weeks left until deadline day, they haven’t got all that long.
