'Here we go': Tottenham now set to sign 'wonderful' player Arsenal reportedly also wanted - Fabrizio Romano

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have been fairly quiet in the transfer window so far this summer, getting just two senior signings between them.
However, with just three weeks left before deadline day, things may be about to change for both clubs.

Arsenal, who have signed Riccardo Calafiori so far, are currently working hard to try and seal a deal for Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino.

However, Tottenham – who have landed Archie Gray – are now seemingly set to sign a Premier League player that Arsenal were linked with earlier this summer.

Arsenal target Dominic Solanke now set for Tottenham
Both Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke this summer.

Since then, however, Tottenham have taken the lead in the Solanke race and now, according to Romano, an agreement has been struck.

The transfer insider reported that Tottenham and Bournemouth have agreed a deal worth £65million in total, which includes add-ons.

It’s a record fee for both clubs, and Solanke is now set to travel for his medical ahead of signing a deal until the summer of 2030.

And so, it looks like this transfer saga is coming to an end, with Tottenham set to secure the signing of a striker Jurgen Klopp has previously described as “wonderful”.

Both Spurs and Arsenal could do with strengthening their attacking ranks this summer.

The Lilywhites have been without an out-and-out striker since Harry Kane swapped N17 for the 80939 of Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have also been without a classic No. 9, and they could’ve certainly done with one last season as they spurned a lot of chances.

However, in this case, Tottenham now look set to triumph over Arsenal in pursuit of Solanke, who will be eager to build on his great 2023/24 campaign.
