‘It’s terrible’: Cesc Fabregas says he’s really not happy with one thing Arsenal have done this summer

Arsenal haven’t been all that active in the transfer market this summer, with Riccardo Calafiori arriving as the Gunners’ only major signing.
However, while Calafiori is Arsenal’s only major signing of the summer, there has also been a notable departure.

Indeed, Emile Smith Rowe has left the Gunners to join Fulham in a £34m deal.

Smith Rowe was a real fan favourite at Arsenal, and, as you can imagine, many supporters aren’t best pleased to see a homegrown talent like this head elsewhere.

Speaking on the Planet Premier League Podcast, Cesc Fabregas has been discussing Smith Rowe’s departure, and he says that it’s terrible that Arsenal have had to sell the midfielder.

Interestingly, Fabregas made a prediction about Smith Rowe’s career, claiming that he will be back at the top level within a couple of years.

Cesc Fabregas reacts to Emile Smith Rowe departure
Fabregas spoke about Smith Rowe’s move to Fulham.

“I really like this player, I’m a big fan of him. He’s so powerful, you can see he has been brought up in the Arsenal way. He’s super smart, competitive,” Fabregas said.

“It’s terrible that he needs to leave Arsenal because of injuries and he’s struggled to come back, with Arteta being so demanding he struggled to get his way back.

“I think Fulham is a good step, he’s been very smart, they play good football, have a good coach, stability. I believe that having one or two seasons at Fulham playing well he will come back to the top.”

Emile Smith Rowe had to go
As sad as it is to see a homegrown talent leave like this, it was time for Smith Rowe to go.

The England international wasn’t getting the gametime he needed at Arsenal, and he needed to find a new club where he’d be a key player for the good of his career.

It is a shame that Smith Rowe has left Arsenal, but, for the player, this is the best thing for him.

Fingers crossed Fabregas’ prediction can come true and Smith Rowe will shine at Fulham.
